A pricing weight calculated as L × W × H ÷ DIM factor. Carriers bill whichever is greater — actual weight or this volumetric figure.

Industry-standard defaults are 5000 cm³/kg for air freight and express courier, and 4000 cm³/kg for road/ground. Some carriers use different numbers — confirm before shipping.

Light bulky items (pillows, foam padding) take up disproportionate space. The DIM charge compensates the carrier for the capacity used.
