Frequently asked questions

What contrast ratio do I need?

WCAG AA asks for at least 4.5:1 for normal body text and 3:1 for large text. AAA raises that to 7:1 and 4.5:1. The contrast checker reports which level a pair reaches.

Which colour formats are supported?

HEX, RGB, HSL and HSV convert between one another, and palettes can be exported in the format you need.

Can I pull colours out of an image?

Yes. The palette extractor reads the dominant colours from any image, including HEIC and RAW, entirely on your device.

Why does colour-blind simulation matter?

Roughly one man in twelve has some form of colour vision deficiency. If your interface uses colour alone to convey meaning, those users miss it — the simulator shows you what they see.
